Liarne Fox – Team Member Profile & HRH Prince Phillip

As part of our history within the drone industry, RUAS was the UK’s first accredited provider of remote pilot training and assessment since 2012, creating courses and learning throughout the country and beyond, and as one of our key members since its inception, Liarne has been a part of bringing these services to our students over the years.

Liarne’s contributions have consistently been a source of insight and aid to hundreds of students who have gone on to help build budding careers not just at various levels of the drone industry, but also throughout the UK’s police forces, Army Reserves, the BBC, and many many more.

From flight practice to operations manuals, Liarne has constantly been at the forefront of RUAS’ training capabilities, adapting the extensive laws and regulations set out by the CAA for all those new to industry.

But not only is Liarne a key member of the RUAS team, but is also a serving Staff Sergeant with the 104 Regiment Royal Artillery, who in the last week has played a vital role in Wales’ representation in the mourning of His Royal Highness, Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh.

A gun salute, held in Cardiff Castle at midday as part of other events all over the UK to honour the passing of Prince Phillip, was conducted by Liarne and other members of her regiment.

As part of an interview with the BBC, Liarne said, “Obviously today is a very sombre occasion and the circumstances surrounding today are absolutely heartbreaking. However, it is an absolute privilege to lead the country in the mourning for Prince Philip and it is an absolute honour to be part of this parade.”
