The UK is home to many great features dotted across its landscape and cities, setting it apart on the world stage as somewhere that can show iconic landmarks, structures and works of art in all their glory. One such landmark that people flock to is the Angel of the North, situated at Gateshead just a few minutes from Newcastle. With its arms wide open, it literally welcomes visitors and thousands of passers-by every day as it looks down from its perch.

Following what has been an incredibly successful and eventful year for RUAS, we are proud to see in our one-year anniversary since we officially became part of the Environmental Agency’s emergency response team, emerging as the only company to be affiliated in their operations with our drone technology and application.

RUAS has conducted countless flight operations over the years, but few have been set in such an idyllic location such as when a team of our pilots journeyed to Penshaw Monument in Sunderland. Looking down from its perch in the city’s surrounding hillside, the striking landmark is visited by countless visitors from near and far every day.

RUAS have been involved in a number of offshore and onshore inspections for years, ranging through a number of aircraft and procedures.

Drones are becoming more and more popular by the day, and for good reason. They offer an aerial perspective that is unmatched in terms of convenience and cost. However, what many people don’t know is that drones have been undergoing an evolution that has led to their application in underwater projects as well.

These vehicles are known as ROV’s, or Remotely Operated Vehicles, and they can be used for a variety of purposes such as inspection, research, and even entertainment. In this article, we are going to look at the five best ROV’s for the year 2022.
